CONTRACTOR PLANNING GUIDE
C9 Socket Line: 12-Inch vs 15-Inch Spacing
Compare bulb counts and planning costs for the same measured roofline.
Compare the same footage
Twelve-inch spacing creates a closer sequence of sockets than 15-inch spacing. For 100 lit feet, the planning counts are 100 and 80 bulbs respectively. For 1,000 feet, they are approximately 1,000 and 800. Check the actual spool socket count and cut endpoints before treating those estimates as a purchase count.
Consider the design
Walk the property and consider the viewing distance, roofline shape, and customer’s preferred appearance. A closer spacing adds more light points along the same route. Wider spacing uses fewer bulbs. Neither choice guarantees brightness, energy use, or an exact appearance without the bulb specifications and a sample run.
Compare full package quantities
Both line options are sold in 1,000-foot spools. At the listed catalog prices, a 12-inch spool is $284.99 and a 15-inch spool is $289.99. Bulbs are $18.99 per 25-pack. Compare the total line, bulb, and mounting package quantities for your whole job, including separately rounded colors. Shipping and tax are confirmed before payment.
Order the correct workflow
The current kit builder uses 15-inch spacing. For 12-inch line, order the spool and complementary materials individually. Keep an inventory note showing spacing for every stored run so a returning crew does not combine mismatched patterns by accident. Use the calculator to compare both estimates, then confirm electrical and mounting compatibility separately.
Frequently asked questions
Which uses more bulbs?
Twelve-inch spacing uses more sockets per foot: one versus approximately 0.8 at 15 inches.
Can I get 12-inch line in a kit?
The current kit builder uses 15 inches. Twelve-inch line is available as an individual material.
Are the spools the same length?
Both catalog options are sold as 1,000-foot spools.
